Das Millennium Háza befindet sich im berühmten Stadtpark "Városliget" im Zentrum von Budapest. Das ehemalige Olof-Palme-Haus wurde 1885 von Ferenc Pfaff im Neo-Renaissance-Stil entworfen. Ursprünglich diente das Gebäude als Veranstaltungsort für Kunstausstellungen. Im Laufe des 20. Jahrhunderts beherbergte es das Stadtmuseum, eine Bildhauerwerkstatt, eine Tanzschule und verschiedene Restaurants. Nach jahrelangem Leerstand wurde das Millennium Háza von 2017 bis 2022 restauriert.

Kurzbeschreibung:: The Millennium Háza is located in the famous city park "Városliget" in the centre of Budapest. Ferenc Pfaff designed the former Olof Palme House in neo-Renaissance style in 1885. Originally, the building was used as a venue for art exhibitions. In the course of the 20th century, it housed the municipal museum, a sculpture workshop, a dance school and various restaurants. After years of vacancy, the Millennium Háza was restored from 2017 to 2022 in keeping with its status as a listed building.
Aufgabenstellung:: After extensive stocktaking, considerable damage and fractures of the roof structure as well as façade elements were found. Since restoration directly on the façade was not possible, the filigree ornaments were removed, restored by hand and reinstalled. Powerful cleaners were used on the exposed surfaces before cracks were closed with an EP injection resin. The reinstalled fragments were then reinforced with an epoxy adhesive and a silicic acid ester-based stone strengthener. For long-term weather protection, a solvent-free, hydrophobic impregnation and a weatherproof silicone resin paint were applied.
